Meet the Brewmaster
Head Brewmaster: Jason Gasper-Hulvat
American Brewers Guild graduate Jason Gasper-Hulvat joined the team in the Summer of 2016 as Head Brewmaster of Canton Brewing Company. A resident of Jackson Township, he comes to Canton from Akron's Thirsty Dog where he was a brewer and blender for their sour program.
Having developed a passion for brewing while working as an administrator at Temple University in Philadelphia, he enrolled in the American Brewers Guild for education and training in pursuit of a career change into craft brewing. Gasper-Hulvat grew up in the Akron area and graduated from Walsh Jesuit High School.
After completing coursework at the Brewers Guild, he apprenticed at Cleveland's Market Garden before joining Thirsty Dog. With degrees in history from Xavier and Miami, the opportunity to brew beers inspired by Ohio's rich brewing history combines two of his passions. Gasper-Hulvat plans to continue brewing the Canton Brewing beers that locals have come to know and love, while drawing on his eclectic training in a variety of beer-making techniques to add to the offerings.
